Looking for second home insurance for a holiday cottage or apartment in the UK? Do you prefer to holiday in your second home yourself and allow family or friends to use it without charge? Then you’ll need second home insurance to protect it. Your own home insurers may not be keen to insure such a risk as they may perceive your second home will lie unused for some of the year.
Boshers have negotiated with a leading insurer to enable us to accommodate our clients who own such a home. We can arrange second home insurance cover for your property so long as it is located within the UK. When providing insurance for your coastal or countryside bolthole we also prefer to place the Home Insurance for your main residence. We can quote for it when it falls due for renewal. Insuring your main home and your second home with one insurer balances the risk for the insurer and prevents an overlap of cover that may occur if two insurers were involved. Unfortunately if your main residence is outside of the UK we are unable to provide insurance for your second home.
The additional home insurance policy will be endorsed by the insurers to make the policy relevant to a second home. You will be required to make sure that the second home is regularly checked internally. We require checks at least once a fortnight by yourself or an adult authorised by you, perhaps a neighbour.
Call us today for a quotation and we will be happy to discuss the full requirements of our second home insurance endorsement.
